We have worked alongside the Yard Sale team since they opened their first site on Lower Clapton Road in 2015. We have seen them grow from strength to strength, opening new sites in Finsbury Park, Walthamstow and Leytonstone whilst achieving the accolade of London’s best loved local restaurant in the 2017 Timeout Love London awards.
Our brief when designing the interiors, as always, centres around functionality. It is essential that diners can enjoy the experience within the shops whilst ensuring that take away and delivery orders can be accommodated as efficiently as possible. The interiors are playful, colourful and simple, ensuring that each restaurant is both inviting and inclusive. We have used raw brick and concrete finishes where possible and have mixed these with recycled plastic surfaces, birch faced plywood counters, reclaimed timbers and brass detailing to ensure the spaces have depth and personality.
