Cicchetti, Knightsbridge

Cicchetti Knightsbridge is situated adjacent to Harrods in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods. The restaurant is the latest outpost for the brand following the success of previous sites in both Piccadilly and Covent Garden. It serves authentic Venetian cicchetti; small plates perfect for sharing; seven days a week throughout both day and evening.

The opulent dining room and bar has been inspired by the architecture and design of Venice and in particular the work of some of its most influential creative residents. The material palette of the space utilises finishes synonymous with the region in a rich palette and includes details reminiscent of luxury yachts and water taxis.

Guests enter the space beside the main bar, a monolithic structure of carved and shaped Cippollino marble, sourced directly from an Italian quarry. Drinks are served at bespoke brass and oak bar stools with sage green upholstery, which nods to the various tones and shades used throughout the space. The marble flooring takes influence from Venetian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa, and features lush tones of Alicante, Carrara and Verde stone.

A bespoke brass balustrade separates the bar from the dining area, which greets guests with the restaurant’s take on a classic fresco, created for the project by artist Jessalyn Brooks. The vibrant colours and abstract figures of the artwork form a dramatic backdrop to the burgundy and striped fixed banquette seating which wraps around the restaurant.

Guests are seated at richly upholstered dining chairs and are served at bespoke marble tables with decadent brass detailing. Eclectic artworks adorn the high-gloss timber and antique mirror wall panelling, illuminated by a mixture of brass and alabaster wall and picture lighting. The generous ceilings feature antique mirrored coffers which house bespoke brass chandeliers and globe lights. The rear of the restaurant features grand skylights in which large-scale Italian Murano chandeliers are hung surrounded by lush, illuminated planting. Two more murals adorn this space, in front of which guests sit amongst plant foliage whilst they dine.

In the basement, a luxurious private dining room features a bespoke marble floor with full height wall panels made from antique mirror. Large-scale artworks dress the space whilst wine bottles are presented in illuminated alabaster and oak cabinetry. Gloss amber specialist paint on the ceiling frames ruched fabric coffers and Murano chandeliers.
