Fettle worked with BLVD Hospitality to redesign Santa Monica’s iconic hotel The Georgian. Dramatic in appearance but with a cosy, intimate feel, Fettle lovingly restored the landmark property to its former glory.
As part of this large scale project, Fettle designed the 84 bedrooms within the hotel, consisting of 28 suites and 56 standard rooms.
Fettle employed a playful and distinctive scheme of colours and textures for the hotel guest rooms inspired by late period west coast Art Deco architecture as well as the rich history of the iconic building itself.
The standard rooms feature a signature custom bed with a contemporary curved headboard, bespoke dining chair, table and credenza.
The suites are visually similar but also benefit from a large living room featuring an elegant seating and dining area, statement lighting and eclectic artwork. The highlight of the suites is the bespoke mini bar – a floor to ceiling brass and antiqued mirror piece, with a backlit textured glass surround, containing a brass panel with ornate buttons that can be pressed for a range of experiences from in-room spa treatments to a beach picnic.
Most of the rooms within the hotel look out to the beach front, Santa Monica pier and in some cases a direct view across Malibu.
